Memphis Grizzlies’ Brandon Clarke dies from accidental drug overdose
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke died from an accidental overdose of heroin and cocaine, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed.
The 29-year-old was discovered unresponsive at a residence in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles on the evening of 11 May.
Law enforcement sources previously confirmed that narcotics were present at the scene, with authorities swiftly ruling out any suspicion of foul play.
An official news release on Friday stated that the formal cause of death was definitively linked to the combined effects of the two illicit substances.
