Washington Wizards acquire Khris Middleton in six-team trade agreement
The Washington Wizards have acquired Khris Middleton from the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $17.6m contract as part of an elaborate six-team sign-and-trade agreement.
Agent Mike Lindeman confirmed the transfer, securing a swift return to the capital for the 34-year-old forward.
The sprawling transaction also involves the LA Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies.
Complex multi-team transaction
As part of the wider NBA exchange, D’Angelo Russell will leave Washington to join the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies will also receive two future second-round draft considerations from the Wizards franchise.
Other notable player movements in the extensive trade include John Collins heading to Detroit and Caris LeVert returning to Milwaukee.
A swift return to Washington
The former NBA champion briefly played for the Wizards last season before being dealt to Dallas in a deadline-day move involving Anthony Davis.
He previously averaged 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists across 63 appearances during the most recent campaign.
Before his recent nomadic spell, the veteran forward spent 12 successful years with the Milwaukee Bucks.
During his time in Wisconsin, the three-time All-Star forged a formidable partnership with Giannis Antetokounmpo to secure the 2021 championship.
