Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson has been arrested on a felony domestic violence charge following an alleged altercation on Monday night.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the arrest was for allegedly inflicting corporal injury against a spouse.

Jail records indicate the offensive lineman was booked early Tuesday morning before being released on a $50,000 bond.

Altercation over mobile phone

According to regional broadcaster NBC4, the incident began when the Rams starter suspected the woman was recording him.

The news outlet noted that he allegedly attempted to physically remove the device from her possession.

Investigators said the woman had scratch marks on her arms.

Previous legal and league scrutiny

This latest police involvement adds to a growing list of off-field controversies surrounding the NFL player.

In November, a civil lawsuit was filed against him by a woman alleging he recorded a sexual encounter without her consent.

The civil suit claims the athlete repeatedly refused to delete the footage and used it to taunt the alleged victim.

That specific incident was reportedly flagged directly to the league’s governing body prior to the lawsuit being filed.

Recent contract and suspension

Prior to these legal disputes, the prominent left tackle agreed to a lucrative three-year, $57m contract extension in February 2024.

However, his subsequent season was quickly disrupted by league disciplinary action.

He was forced to serve a two-game suspension in August after violating the NFL’s strict personal conduct policy.
