Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter has agreed a historic four-year contract extension worth up to $160m, making him the highest-paid player at his position in NFL history.

The landmark deal guarantees $106m to the 25-year-old and carries an unprecedented average annual value of $38m, surpassing all previous defensive interior contracts.
