Al Nassr appoint Ange Postecoglou as head coach on two-year deal
Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi Pro League champions Al Nassr on a two-year deal, where he will manage Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Australian tactician returns to management for the first time since an ill-fated 39-day spell at Nottingham Forest ended with his dismissal last October.
He replaces Jorge Jesus, who departed at the end of his one-year contract despite guiding the Saudi club to the league title.
Bouncing back from Forest setback
The former Spurs boss faces immediate high expectations as he takes charge of a squad spearheaded by Portuguese superstar Ronaldo.
The veteran forward fired his side to domestic glory last season, marking their first championship victory since his lucrative arrival in 2023.
Postecoglou brings considerable pedigree to the Middle East, having enjoyed major European success prior to his short-lived City Ground tenure.
A history of silverware
He famously secured the Europa League trophy with Tottenham Hotspur in May 2025 before being unexpectedly sacked a month later.
During a highly successful previous stint in Glasgow, the manager also delivered a domestic treble for Celtic and claimed five major trophies across two seasons.
Current Portugal manager Roberto Martinez had also been heavily linked with the vacancy while coaching Ronaldo at the World Cup.
The defending Saudi champions officially confirmed the two-season agreement via their social media channels on Friday.
