Arsenal are preparing an opening offer for Paris St-Germain forward Bradley Barcola as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his Premier League-winning squad ahead of the new season.

The 23-year-old played a crucial role for the French champions last season, helping them secure a domestic and European double.

His current employers defeated the Gunners in the Champions League final, though he only started 21 league matches during the campaign.

That lack of regular starting minutes has reportedly left the French international open to a move away from the Parc des Princes.

Paris St-Germain reluctant to sell

Despite the player’s stance, the Parisian outfit are currently refusing to entertain offers for the talented winger.

Journalist Ben Jacobs told the Market Madness podcast that the French giants will maintain this position unless they recruit a direct replacement.

“When I ask PSG sources, it’s ‘not for sale’ and you’re not going to get a different answer from PSG until they potentially add another player.”

The highly-rated attacker recently demonstrated his value on the global stage, scoring off the bench in France’s World Cup opening victory over Senegal.

He contributed 13 goals and seven assists across 49 appearances in all competitions last season.

Reshaping the Arsenal attack

Arteta’s side are believed to be willing to listen to offers for existing wide players Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli.

The departure of either forward would leave a significant void on the left flank of the North London club’s frontline.

While Morgan Rogers is understood to be the primary target for that role, Jacobs confirmed the Paris St-Germain star remains firmly on the shortlist.

“I’m told the player is open to leaving PSG because he wants to play regularly, but PSG are more inclined at the moment to see if they can get him to sign improved terms.”
“If things develop and PSG find an attacker, whether left or right, then PSG’s perspective with Barcola could change.”
