Erling Haaland leads Norway to World Cup quarter-final clash with England

Erling Haaland will face the country of his birth on Saturday when he leads Norway against England in the World Cup quarter-finals in Miami.

The Manchester City striker has guided the Scandinavian nation to their first appearance at the global tournament since 1998.

The 25-year-old scored twice to eliminate five-time winners Brazil in the last 16, keeping his remarkable international record intact.

Having netted 16 times in eight qualifying matches, the prolific forward has added seven more goals in just four tournament appearances.

A crucial clash against the country of his birth

Born in Yorkshire in 2000 while his father Alf-Inge played for Leeds United, the global icon was originally eligible to represent the Three Lions.
