Juventus sign Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario on initial loan
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has signed a contract to join Juventus on an initial free loan deal with an option to buy.
The Italian international returns to his homeland after a spell in north London that yielded 93 league appearances since his arrival in 2023.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the necessary paperwork has been completed for the move.
The agreement includes a non-mandatory €8m (£6.7m) purchase option alongside a further €2m in performance-related add-ons.
Spurs reshape squad under De Zerbi
The departure comes during a frantic summer of transfer activity at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi has overseen a £235m spending spree, bringing in Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke.
The club have also secured smart free agency additions, acquiring experienced Premier League talent such as Martin Dubravka and Andy Robertson.
With Dubravka expected to operate as a deputy, highly-rated prospect Antonin Kinsky is heavily tipped to inherit the starting gloves following impressive late-season performances.
An ‘outstanding’ Premier League impact
The shot-stopper established himself as a fan favourite in England despite battling persistent injury issues last season.
Former Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou consistently praised his dedication, highlighting his crucial interventions during their previous campaigns.
“Vic was outstanding today with a couple of brilliant saves; he’s been brilliant from day one for us.” Ange Postecoglou
Pundits were equally enamoured with the sweeper-keeper’s aggressive style of play.
“You talk about a sweeper keeper, I’ve never seen anything like that.” Jamie Carragher
The passionate goalkeeper remained deeply invested in the club’s fortunes even while sidelined.
He was famously seen intensely watching the season finale from the touchline and celebrating wildly with De Zerbi when Premier League safety was secured.
“Not the best at crosses but in terms of shot stopping he’s up there with the best and he showed that tonight.” Les Ferdinand
Tottenham ultimately settled for a temporary exit rather than an immediate cash injection, granting the player his desired return to Serie A.
