Liverpool are not currently negotiating a contract extension with Alexis Mac Allister, according to the midfielder’s father, as the club prepares for a major summer rebuild.

Mac Allister’s father, Carlos, has confirmed that the Argentine playmaker is neither seeking a move away from Anfield nor discussing fresh terms.

The World Cup winner remains tied to the Merseyside club until June 2028.

Midfield counterparts Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai have reportedly been prioritised for new deals ahead of the former Brighton star.

Speaking to WinWin, Carlos Mac Allister emphasised his son’s commitment to the team despite the lack of recent negotiations.

“Alexis has a valid contract until June 2028 and so far we are not speaking publicly with any other club,” he stated.
“We believe that the club’s fans deserve this level of respect from the player, and so far the club has not negotiated with us to renew the contract.”

These comments arrive during a crucial phase for the Reds, who can secure Champions League qualification with a victory against Chelsea on Saturday.

Slot advised on attacking reinforcements

Manager Arne Slot faces a demanding transfer window with significant attacking investment expected.

The Dutch coach must reshape a forward line that is preparing for the anticipated departure of long-serving talisman Mohamed Salah.

Former Liverpool winger Bolo Zenden believes Paris St-Germain talent Desire Doue would be the perfect addition to Slot’s squad.

Zenden acknowledged that extracting the highly-rated France international from the Parisian giants will be a challenging task.

“A player I like a lot and would be my dream signing for Liverpool is Desire Doue,” Zenden revealed.
