Liverpool have opened preliminary talks with AC Milan for defender Fikayo Tomori and are considering a substantial bid for Mainz midfielder Kaishu Sano.

Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel has publicly acknowledged the mounting Premier League interest in his prized asset.
Heidel insists the Bundesliga outfit are under no financial pressure to sanction a sale this window.
