Paris St-Germain omit Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye amid Liverpool interest
Liverpool’s pursuit of new attacking options has received a significant boost after Paris St-Germain omitted wingers Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye from their matchday squad.
The Merseyside club are actively seeking reinforcements following the departure of Mohamed Salah at the end of his contract.
Both forwards have emerged as high-profile targets to fill the void on the right flank at Anfield.
Omissions spark transfer speculation
The French champions have decided to leave the sought-after pair out of their upcoming weekend fixture against Rennes.
No official explanation has been provided for their absence, intensifying rumours of an imminent departure from the Parc des Princes.
Securing the French international could cost the Premier League side up to £128.4m.
Meanwhile, his 18-year-old team-mate commands an asking price of around £60m, taking the potential combined outlay to more than £171m.
Enrique demands commitment
Paris St-Germain manager Luis Enrique refused to be drawn on specific individuals when questioned about potential outgoings.
“I don’t know and I don’t want to speak about any player individually, because it’s always dangerous when you are asking something positive or negative about a player.” – Luis Enrique
However, the former Barcelona head coach made it clear that he expects full dedication from his current squad members.
“We are a very young, very ambitious team. It is important for us to make changes and look for players who enjoy playing our way and who love playing for PSG.”
The 54-year-old reiterated that players must be fully invested in the club’s project if they wish to remain in the French capital.
“When a player doesn’t want to come here, or doesn’t have a smile on their face about being here, it is better to find another solution.”
The focus now shifts to whether the Reds will submit a formal offer that meets the Parisian club’s hefty combined valuation.
