Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven signs new contract extension
Dutch defender Micky van de Ven has ended speculation over his future by signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Netherlands international has established himself as an indispensable figure in north London since his arrival from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023.
His renewed commitment provides a significant boost for Spurs following their historic 2025 Europa League final victory over Manchester United.
European glory and Premier League survival
The lightning-fast centre-back played a pivotal role in ending the club’s lengthy trophy drought during that triumphant European campaign.
He also proved crucial domestically last season when the team battled to avoid relegation from the top flight.
Stepping up during a critical period, the former Bundesliga talent captained the side for their final six fixtures while Cristian Romero was sidelined with an injury.
