“I had a view of Chelsea from the outside,” Alonso told reporters.

Restoring dressing room unity

Now, the former Bayer Leverkusen manager holds the unenviable task of evaluating the massive squad and restoring harmony to a fractured dressing room.
Key midfielders Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo remain at the club, despite both publicly exploring moves away during their recent slide down the table.
“We had the same ideas, the same analysis, to start building momentum together,” added Alonso regarding his discussions with the board.
“That is why we are taking these steps together and making decisions to build a good team.”
